Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which service is right for me?
If you’re unsure, we can book a free 15-minute discovery call. I’ll help you get clear on what you need and where to begin. Many clients move between services as their needs evolve.
What’s the difference between psychotherapy and wellbeing coaching?
Psychotherapy focuses more on emotional processing and understanding root causes of distress. Wellbeing coaching is more forward-focused and blends mindset, lifestyle, and body-based tools to support change. My approach weaves both together depending on what best supports you.
Do you work online or in person?
Both. I offer online sessions via a secure platform and in-person sessions in County Louth. You can choose what feels most accessible and comfortable for you.
Can I work on my relationship with food if I’ve already done therapy?
Yes! This programme complements previous therapy beautifully. It’s designed to deepen your mind-body awareness and help you unlearn harmful patterns around food, body, and self-worth, regardless of where you start.
Do I need a diagnosis or referral to work with you?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis to access support. Many of my clients come with emotional distress or food/body struggles that haven’t been formally diagnosed. You’re welcome as you are.
Is this suitable if I have a history of eating disorders?
Yes—but it depends on your stage of recovery. If you're actively in crisis, I’ll help you connect with a multidisciplinary team. If you're in a stable phase and looking to rebuild trust with your body, this service may be a great fit.
Can I pause or change sessions during the programme?
Yes. Life happens. We’ll create a pace that works for you and adapt the sessions to meet your needs along the way.
What kind of therapy do you offer?
I offer an integrative approach rooted in humanistic, person-centred psychotherapy. I draw from CBT, DBT, somatic therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindful self-compassion. We’ll collaborate to find what resonates and supports your healing.
How long will therapy take?
That really depends on your goals and what you’re bringing to therapy. Some clients come for short-term support (6–12 sessions), while others prefer open-ended work. We’ll review regularly to ensure the work feels useful and aligned with your needs.
What can I talk about in therapy?
Anything. This is your space. Common themes include emotional distress, trauma, relationships, identity, burnout, grief, and feeling stuck. You don’t need to have all the words—sometimes just showing up is essential.
What happens in a session?
You’ll be met with warmth, curiosity, and nonjudgment. We might explore your thoughts, feelings, body cues, and experiences—sometimes talking, sometimes pausing. I’ll support you to feel safe enough to go deeper, at your own pace.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What we discuss stays between us, with rare exceptions around safety (which I’ll explain clearly in our first session). Confidentiality creates the safety needed for meaningful exploration.
Do you offer therapy for children or teens?
At the moment, I only work with adults (18+). However, I support parents and caregivers navigating challenges within their family or parenting roles.
How do I know if it’s working?
Therapy isn’t always about immediate solutions—it’s often about creating space for deeper understanding and growth. Signs it’s working might include feeling more emotionally regulated, connected to yourself, or clearer in your relationships. We’ll regularly reflect on your progress together.
